DAY 2 – ORGANIZING BATHROOM STORAGE
My side of the bathroom sink is always so bad! It’s unorganized, always cluttered and the storage underneath the sink is even worse. If you have read my blog post on The Real House Tour, then you have seen just how bad it can get. I realized I was just leaving it all out on the counter because my storage in the cabinets and drawers wasn’t working for me. If I opened a cabinet, stuff just started falling out!
I would never call myself an extreme coupon-er or even a coupon clipper really, however, I always purchase multiple toiletries when they are on sale or when a good coupon comes out. Over the years, I’ve learned to make sure I always have deodorant, shaving cream, toothpaste, shampoo & conditioner, etc. and I love that I never run out. So I have to have a place to store all that. I’ve had these bins for a couple years and thought they were a good solution to my extra toiletries. However, because they have lids and stack vertically every time I needed something, I had to pull everything out just to get to it. Not ideal.
Then I found these bins that are still stackable, but have drawers! I still kept everything organized into sections for hair, lotions, toothpaste, etc. and used the smaller drawers for extra makeup items like mascara, moisturizer, etc. The spinning organizer was the perfect solution for when I need to grab something and don’t need to search or dig towards the back of the cabinet. I put items I use weekly like face masks, eye creams, nail polish, etc.
I’ll be honest here and admit I still have way too many extra toiletries and makeup. I threw a lot of the old stuff away and in the next few months, as I start using the items more I’m hoping I can simplify this cabinet even more.
TASKS FOR TODAY:
- Toss old makeup and products you no longer use
- Organize into different sections – makeup, lotions, extra toiletries, etc.
- Is there a better solution for the storage – pull out drawers, dividers, etc.?
You can refer to the resource guide for any products I’ve mentioned and some of my favorite organizational tools. Once you’ve completed your tasks, let me know! Leave a comment or share with me on Facebook or Instagram, using the hashtag #HelloAllison10Days – I’d love to see it!
