Being able to decorate the house for Christmas is one of my favorite things to do and Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. I’ve already shared our patio and am continuing the Christmas House tour with our entryway and living room. I followed the design boards I already created and kept everything simple and of the same color scheme. (post contains affiliate links, see disclosure)
Our home is very open and has one large great room that includes the entry, living room, kitchen, and dining room. It can be hard to decorate every space without it feeling too overwhelming or too cluttered. But one project I really wanted to do this year was the faux fireplace mantel.
This faux fireplace mantel didn’t cost me a dime! I used everything I already had including some scrap wood and wallpaper. All the DIY details can be found in this previous post. The Snowfall print from Vol 25 is beautiful and I paired it with ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas book art. It’s a nod to my huge canvas prints from a couple Christmas’ ago. I moved the Christmas tree from its usual spot and allowed space for the faux fireplace mantel and balanced out the room. I chose to not do any ornaments this year, and instead only lights and ribbon. Lots of lights! A geometric blanket made a simple tree skirt. And of course, I have to have the record player for all my favorite Christmas vinyl.
