I am so excited to be joining fellow blogger friends to share our Favorite Things 2018. Ya know Oprah’s Favorite Things? It’s kind of like that. 😉 Totally kidding, of course. If you are hopping over from Lil Luna, HELLO! And if you are new here – WELCOME! Take a look around, learn more about me, take a house tour, and see my favorite projects. When choosing my favorite things, I really thought about tried-and-true items I use, cannot live without, and decor items I will never get rid of it. I’ve always been a huge advocate for having nothing in your home that you do not absolutely love, so these items are mine forever! And some I even use every day, like the blanket and my super comfortable UGG slippers, especially since the weather is getting colder.
FOR THE HOME
marble board | sugar canister | pillow covers | jar candle | basket | blanket | book | This marble board should be a staple in every kitchen. Since we don’t have marble countertops, it makes our kitchen feel just a little bit fancier! Also, in our kitchen are my favorite mixing bowls from the Utility collection. I love the canisters too! Another decor item I can never get enough of are H&M pillow covers. They are great for every season and make switching up decor so easy. I pair them with my favorite feather pillow inserts. This knitted blanket is also a favorite and I use it every day, even in the summertime. We actually have a few in our home – one of every color!
I also can never have enough candles in our home. The Capri Blue Volcano is one of my favorite scents and I just recently learned that the Island Moonlight scent from Target smells just like it. I tried it out for myself, and it’s pretty close! For the price, I’ll take the Target one any day. A few more items I cannot live without are baskets and coffee table books. I love looking through all the pretty pictures and gathering inspiration from decor books. I’ve linked all my favorites here in my Amazon shop. Baskets are a must have in a home, they are so versatile and can hold anything and everything from pillows, blankets, toys, plants, and anything you want to hide!
BEAUTY & FASHION
planner | handbag | sunglasses | blow dryer | facial brush | slippers | mask tool | dry shampoo | bubble bath | I don’t share a lot of beauty or fashion stuff here on the blog, but again these are items that are my absolute favorites and cannot live without. A planner, I have to have it, everywhere I go. Nowadays I use a digital planner just for that reason, but simple and beautiful planners like this one always make me want to go back to pen and paper.
These sunglasses are THE BEST! They are popular for a reason and look flattering on everyone. I have a smaller framed face, and they still look great. This faux leather handbag is reversible and is a good size. It’s big enough to carry lots of stuff but not so big that it feels like carrying a duffle bag. I use it for work and it carries my laptop, iPad, a book, my wallet, makeup bag, etc. Plus when you get tired of the brown, you can flip it to black!
This blow dryer has completely changed my hair! I’m actually obsessed with the whole Babyliss collection. It started with a straightener over 10 years ago (still have the same one) and then included the curling wand and blow dryer. I love them so much, I even have the travel size versions of the straightener and blow dryer! Speaking of hair, this dry shampoo is THE BEST! I didn’t believe it until I tried it for myself. After hearing almost every beauty blogger talk about it, I tried this sample pack first and couldn’t believe how great my hair felt.
I recently purchased the Clarisonic Mia Smart. Before taking the plunge, I was using this facial brush from Amazon and it worked great but I wanted something of a little more quality. I’ve only been using the Clarisonic for a couple of weeks, but I promised a review to my Instagram followers and so far I love it. I was shocked at first that the brushes didn’t spin, but it’s because Clarisonic uses an oscillation technology for a deeper cleanse. It also works in zones that are timed, and it beeps when its time to move to a different area i.e. forehead to nose. You can also customize those zones depending on your needs. I have larger pores, so I focus mostly on my nose area. After my first use, my face felt clean, but also soft and moisturized! It’s a deep cleanse but still great for sensitive skin.
If you love to do weekly face masks, this mask tool is a must! I’ve been wondering where it has been all my life. You can apply your mask to your face with no mess and no wasting of the product on your hands. And for the weekly pamper sesh, this bubble bath is my favorite. It’s a great price and has an amazing smell.
